Eurosceptic Hammond to replace Hague - William Hague quits as a dozen ministers axed in cabinet reshuffle
THE TELEGRAPH
It is understood Mr Hague will be replaced as Foreign Secretary by Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary and a noted eurosceptic.
Tonight government sources suggested that Sir Bob Kerslake, the head of the Home Civil Service, had been removed from his post. High-profile sackings this afternoon included Ken Clarke, the former minister without portfolio, Dominic Grieve as Attorney General and David Willetts, the universities minister. Owen Paterson, the Environment Secretary, was sacked by Mr Cameron despite a last ditch attempt by his allies to keep him in post. The Prime Minister will on Tuesday promote as many as 12 women to his Cabinet and the lower ministerial ranks. The average age of those sacked was around 60.
